1. Principles
Y Marine OS retains data only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to legal, financial, charter, and audit retention obligations. Deletion requests are honored where retention obligations do not apply.
2. Retention Periods
Pending legal configuration: Specific retention periods per data category must be confirmed by qualified counsel. The following categories are subject to retention:
- Account data: Retained for the duration of Organization membership plus a defined post-termination period.
- Audit logs: Retained for a minimum period required by applicable law.
- Charter records: Retained for legal and financial retention periods.
- Financial records (APA, expenses): Retained for tax and financial compliance periods.
- Technical and maintenance records: Retained for the operational life of the yacht plus a defined period.
- Crew records: Retained according to employment and maritime law requirements.
- Guest data: Retained for charter purposes; subject to deletion request where retention obligations do not apply.
3. Legal Holds
Where a legal hold applies, deletion is suspended until the hold is released. Legal holds may apply to charter records, financial records, and audit logs.
4. Automated Deletion
Where retention periods expire and no legal hold applies, data is automatically deleted or anonymized.
