1. Where AI Is Used

Y Marine OS uses AI in the following areas:

  • Maintenance evidence extraction: AI extracts maintenance requirements from uploaded manufacturer documents.
  • Technical Copilot: An AI assistant that answers questions about yacht technical context.
  • Executive and fleet intelligence: AI summarizes findings, detects anomalies, and generates reports.
  • Concierge features: AI assists with guest and client inquiries.
  • Matching and rescue: AI assists with charter matching and alternative yacht recommendations.

2. What AI Can Do

AI can summarize, recommend, explain, and assist with discovery. It can process uploaded documents, analyze operational data, and generate insights for human review.

3. What AI Cannot Do

AI does not replace captain, engineer, or manufacturer judgment. AI cannot:

  • Make autonomous decisions about safety-critical maintenance.
  • Upgrade Researched evidence to ManufacturerVerified.
  • Override human verification of maintenance requirements.
  • Make binding charter or financial decisions.
  • Access data beyond the user's role and entitlement permissions.

4. Manufacturer Evidence Hierarchy

AI-assisted maintenance evidence extraction produces evidence at the "Researched" level. Only authorized human roles (e.g., Chief Engineer, Technical Manager) can verify evidence as "Manufacturer Verified" after reviewing the source document. This two-tier system ensures that AI never creates false manufacturer authority.

5. Human Verification

All AI-generated maintenance requirements, work order suggestions, and technical recommendations require human verification before execution. The Platform enforces verification workflows.

6. Data Handling

AI features process data within the Platform's security boundary. AI does not transmit data to external services beyond configured subprocessors. AI processing is subject to the same role-based access control and tenant isolation as all Platform features.

7. Limitations

AI may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading outputs. Users must exercise professional judgment and verify AI-generated content before relying on it. Y Marine OS is not responsible for decisions made solely on AI output without human verification.
